| To Parents and Catechists: Provide a quiet, reverent atmosphere in which the young people can pray the Beatitudes and celebrate the saints' examples of living a life of love and happiness with God. Begin a collection of food, toys or clothes to give to the needy at Thanksgiving. Explain that when we help the needy, we are putting our prayer into action as the saints did. |
Celebrating All Saints' Day Leader: All Saints' Day is the special day on which we honor all God's holy people. Their good deeds and holy lives make us thirst for the time when we, too, will share the fullness of God's love forever. All: Oh, dear God, fill us with your love. Help us to be "Be-Attitude" people.
Reader: Who
will share life with God forever? Those who are kind in their actions
and in their thoughts. Such are the people who will share life with God
forever. Psalm 24:3-6
Leader: Imagine you are standing near a fountain memorial to the saints. What saints' names would you read on the surrounding stones? Pray quietly to each saint. Listen and Respond to God's Word Leader: Let us celebrate all God's holy people who are, or who want to be, with God forever. Reader: Happy are those who forgive others. God will forgive them. All: God, we want to be happy with you forever. Reader: Happy are those who are pure in heart. They will see God. All: God, we want to be happy with you forever. Reader: Happy are those who work for peace. They will be called God's children.
All: God, we
want to be happy with you forever. Matthew
5:7-9
My Prayer Goes On Write a prayer in your journal, asking the saints to help you follow their loving ways. Then cut out and glue the prayer symbol (BE-ATTITUDE), near your prayer. Return to Spirituality Resources Index
