Saints For You

Among the many Catholic resources on the Web are some fine sites devoted to the saints. Taken together, the pages linked here can provide students with a good deal of useful and interesting information on the lives of the saints, their importance to our Catholic life, and the Church’s canonization process.

Saints Click on Saints Faqs to find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about saints. Topics covered include "How does the Church choose saints?" "When did the Church start honoring saints?" "Is keeping pictures and statues of saints idolatry?" "Do Catholics pray TO saints?" "Is there a Feast Day for every day of the year?" and "Whatever happened to St. Christopher?" Go to Saint Calendar for saints’ feast days for the current month. On most days you will find a clickable link to a short biography of the saint for that day. The page also features links to calendars for the other months of the current year. Saints Index provides a searchable index of saints. Patron Saints  offers a brief answer to the question "What is a patron saint?" along with an alphabetical listing of places, occupations, and other areas of life and the patron saint or saints of each.
